Hyundai Heavy Aids Flood-stricken Brazil
2011-01-26Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) joined relief efforts in Brazil, hit by one of the deadliest flood in history, by dispatching excavators, engineers and expendables such oil and water filters.
Since January 12, Hyundai Heavy has been playing a crucial role in rebuilding flood-hit cities of Teresopolis and Nova Friburgo. At least 647 people are reported to have perished in floods and mudslides in Brazil.
As a responsible corporate citizen in countries HHI operates in, this aid effort is in line with the support rendered to earthquake-hit Qinghai, China and Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Hyundai Heavy, ranked Top 3 construction equipment maker in Brazilian market with Caterpillar and Komatsu, has been rapidly expanding its business in the region and achieved more than 20% market share.
