Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and SK Telecom, Korea’s biggest mobile carrier, signed an agreement to set up an ultrafast generation (4G) long-term evolution (LTE) network at HHI’s headquarters in Ulsan on October 25.

The carrier will set up the LTE network at the shipyard by December. The new system will be more than five times faster than the 3G network when downloading and uploading. It will enable speedy transmission of large amounts of data anywhere in the HHI shipyard.

It is expected to turn HHI into a smart shipyard, enhancing the efficiency of its work.
