Hyundai Heavy‘s Community Activities
2010-11-26In the run up to the end of the year, Hyundai Heavy’s employees are busying themselves in a multitude of charitable endeavors. Twenty-two in-company community clubs are donating daily necessities, helping maintain houses and making kimchi for local residents in Miryang, Gyeongnam province and Gunsan, Jeonbuk province.
On November 14, 260 employees from Team/Section Chief Club and 7 other clubs visited 40 farmhouses in Miryang to help harvest apples. On November 13, “Damoa”, female workers’ club, visited Hwajeong Social Welfare Facility in Dong-gu and made side dishes for disadvantaged children. The social service club “Chungjung” visited Taeyeon Rehabilitation Center, sheltered housing and donated daily necessities and played soccer and badminton with the children.
On November 20, Hyundai Heavy’s Gunsan shipyard employees visited a nursing home and a welfare facility for children in the region and helped to paint the outer wall of the buildings, checked hydrants and heating equipment.
Moreover, Hyundai Heavy’s sign language club “Sonsarang” will visit Hyejinwon Care Facility in Ulju on November 27 and 28 to make kimchi. The Photography Club also plans to open an exhibition at Ulsan Grand Park on November 30 and will donate money raised from the sale of photographs to local social welfare organizations.
